Horses

We have three endurance horses on our farm; Valli, Utak and Ulrika. They live out day and night. From your cottage you will see them in the paddocks and on the track - our guests love seeing them canter to their shelter yard! If you would like to ride a horse yourself, we can reccommend a local trekking centre.

Triscombe Barns loves to welcome guest horses. We have four stables, 32 acres of land, an arena and an equine spa in made from an icy cold stream. Hacking on the Quantocks Hills is fantastic with amazing views to the Bristol Channel, vast amounds of moorland, wooded coombes and steep hills, as well as some lovely canter stretches.

Stabling is charged at £20 per night which includes miscanthus bedding. There are two stables (2.6 x 3.5m) on one side of the tackroom and two larger stables on the other side; all are fitted with automatic drinkers. We ask guests to bring their own hay if possible. If you bring your own electric fencing you are welcome to put up a corral in our fields - we charge just £5 per night.

Dogs

We also love to welcome dogs - they are more than welcome to run around our farmyard and courtyards, which are fenced off to provide the safest environment. The Quantock Hills are superb for dog walkers. 

We charge £50 per "dog stay", this is independent of the number of nights or of the number of dogs (three maximum). We kindly ask that: all dogs be kept under control; dogs are not left unattended unless they are in a cage; for dog mess to be cleared up and dog owners to respect the horses and sheep in our fields and not let dogs run after them.

How to make a booking including horse stabling, corralling or dog stay charges:

Make the accomodation booking. When it says "Thanks for your booking" you will find below "Explore Extras". Hover over the picture of what you want to add and click "Add to Basket" as many times as you want to add (e.g. to add four nights stabling for two horses, you will have to add it eight times). It is also possible to add extras to your booking at a later date by logging in to your 'My Booking' section.
